We’re Passionate About Building
Regardless of what we’re building or where we’re building it, we maintain a standard of quality our clients can count on. As a smaller company, the owners are the builders. One of us is always on site, allowing us to deliver a consistent product. Whether it’s putting together a small deck, replacing a roof, installing a bathroom, or constructing a custom home, we take pride in everything we do. Making our clients happy is our absolute number one priority. And it’s how we stay busy. We believe we can build a better community — one project at a time — and we do this by being fair, well educated and professional.
In the beginning, Blake worked at Precision Builders. In 2006, during the recession, it was a tough time for everyone in the construction industry. Despite this challenge, Blake and his friend Alex decided to break away and form their own company, Newschool Builders, LLC. Blake had been working on his own as Newschool Builders DBA and subcontracting to other high-end home builders. His close friend Alex had been working with Fine Lines Design and Build. They decided to join forces and incorporated as Newschool Builders, LLC.
During this time, NSB had the opportunity to be subcontractors on some amazing projects for well established and respected companies such as: Tom Moore Builder and Great Northern Construction. They are forever grateful for working with these companies and gaining these experiences.
NSB’s energy and passion for their profession soon led to a reputation of leadership in their industry. They were hired in 2009 to build a beautiful new master bedroom and bathroom addition for a family in Warren, Vermont. This put Newschool Builders on the map in the Mad River Valley.
Currently Blake is deeply engaged in each project from the very beginning, all the way through to completion, which insures the end product, experience and workmanship hold true to their rigorous standards.
“When we build let us think we build forever. Let it not be for present delight nor for present use alone. Let it be such work that our descendants will thank us for, and let us think, as we lay stone upon stone, that a time is to come when these stones will be held sacred because our hands have touched them, and that men will say, as they look upon the labor and wrought substance of them, ‘See! This our fathers did for us.'”
— John Ruskin (1819-1900)
